Lighting – Modern or Traditional

Although I work in all styles of design, my most favorite is to mix modern and traditional elements in a room. Well Michael McHale masters this technique wonderfully in his lighting designs. Fit Chair from Kimball Office

Sometimes I come across a great cross over piece from commerical design to residential and the “Fit” chair is that piece. I sat in this chair when I visited Kimball’s L.A. office. It is comfortable, stylish and offers support where you need it.

Jo-Ann has a keen ability when staging a home to help the homeowner remove clutter and to leave just the right amount of wall hangings and decorator items inside and outside for the home to show at its very best. We had a lovely home that we had been marketing for over three months without an offer that had way too much artwork and furniture, et cetera, covering every inch of wall space and floor space. We brought Jo-Ann in to help us by having her prepare her list of suggestions to make changes for the home, which Jo-Ann went over with our client and helped our client to implement.

Home Staging

Staging a home with furniture is not always the best solution. Sometiimes I use color stories to help people visualize how a space can look. It also helps them not to feel so overwelmed, if a house is in disrepair.
Other times I will draw up space plans to help potential buyers see how they can best utilize rooms in the home. With so many homes on the market, I like to bring out a positive feature of the home to remember.
