Room temperature should be set at or below 68 degrees F.

Plan on 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night.

Avoid chocolate (my downfall), caffeinated beverages and alcohol for at least three hours before bed.
Your bedroom should be clean and clutter free.
Warm baths shortly before bed can help.
Eat a balanced diet.
Avoid sleep aids.
Keep your bedroom dark, quiet and free of distractions from the TV or pets.
Quit smoking.
